Immer wieder werden wir darauf angesprochen, warum wir nicht nach Südamerika fahren, wo ja Südamerika das ursprüngliche Ziel war.
Und die Südamerikaner sooo nett und gutaussehend sind ;-))
Das haben wir uns zu Herzen genommen und unsere Route optional erweitert. D.h. wenn wir es wirklich nicht mehr in Asien aushalten, dann verbringen wir noch einige Wochen in Süd-/Mittelamerika.

Die wohl am häufigsten gestellte Frage vor Beginn einer Weltreise ist die nach der Reiseroute, wahrscheinlich deshalb, weil man bekanntlich ja nicht die ganze Welt bereist, sondern eben nur eine handvoll Länder. Und diese Auswahl macht eine Weltreise dann auch einzigartig und spiegelt die Präferenzen des Einzelnen wieder.

Unsere Weltreise begann eigentlich in Südamerika, doch im Laufe der Planung änderten wir die Reiserichtung von Westen nach Osten wodurch Südamerika zum Schlusslicht der Destinationenliste wurde und bald dem Wunsch, an gewissen Orten länger zu verbleiben, zum Opfer fiel. Für Südamerika wird wohl eine weitere Weltreise fällig werden. Wann wir diese machen werden, wird hier nicht verraten...

When you tell people that you are planning a journey around the world, usually one of the first questions they ask is "What is your travel route?". That is usually the moment when you start name-dropping a few cities and countries. And after a while you start realizing that your journey around the world is more a journey to some selected countries you feel most attracted to. But this selection makes it unique and quite personal. Soe many possibilities, so many choices. Just like everything else in life.

In the beginning our trip had South America as it's first stop and we both got pretty excited about it. After a while we decided to reverse our travel direction (from west to east) to avoid the rainy season in Asia hereby making South America our last stop. When we decided to spend more time in Asia and Australia, we finally dropped South America from our list. So in the longterm we are already thinking about a second journey around the world that would cover South America and all the other destinations left out. But we won't tell you here about when it will happen ...

Kathmandu -> Dehli -> Bangkok -> Ko Samui / Ko Phangan

THAILAND & CO (Jan - mid Feb)
Ko Samui -> Bangkok -> Chiang Mai -> Chian Rai -> Burma -> Laos -> Vietnam -> Bangkok

PAPUA NEW GUINEA (mid Feb - begin. Mar)
Bangkok -> Cairns (Australia) -> Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea) -> Cairns

AUSTRALIA (Mar)
Cairns -> Yulara (Ayers Rock) -> Adelaine -> Melbourne -> Sydney

NEW ZEALAND (Apr)
Sydney -> Wellington -> South Island -> North Island -> Auckland

Wahrscheinlich wird alles eh ganz anders kommen. Aber das ist ja das Schöne an einer Reise. Der geplante Weg ist selten der tatsächlich gewählte... :o)
